September is Attendance Awareness Month School success goes hand in hand with good attendance, and it's important to build the habit of good attendance early.
Missing 10 percent (or about 18 days) can make it harder to read. Additionally, being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
What You Can Do:
Silver Hills will be supporting good school attendance by doing a monthly positive reinforcement for the grade level that has the best overall attendance for each month. District Attendance Policy District Attendance Policy Spanish

Remember all families must reapply every year. Apply today at www.adams12.org/myschoolapps.
STORM Time/Sources of Strength
September Self Awerness Focus In the month of September we will be focusing on the STORM Standard of Self Awareness. Self-awareness is the ability to know what we are doing as we do it and understand why. Self-awareness is digging deep and looking into why we think what we think and do what we do. When we’re privy to this information, it becomes easier to be more kind and compassionate towards ourselves and others. We also gain the ability to have more control and ownership over our behaviors.

WELCOME TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR:
We are so excited for the 22-23 school year! This year we will be covering academic, social emotional, and college & career readiness with your students. Our main goal is to support student success and social emotional learning throughout the school year. We are here to help the 6th graders navigate a new building, additional teachers and a middle school schedule. We are here to help support the 7th graders as they think abstractly, develop their ideals and selection of role models and friends. We are here for 8th graders as they finish strong here at Silver Hills, as abstract reasoning and the development of formal operational thinking grows.
We are here to support the needs of Silver Hills families as they arise whether it is at school or home. See our website for contact information as well as additional Counseling/Mental Health Resources: Silver Hills Counseling.
Looking forward to working with you during the 21-22 school year!
