2024 Bond Program, Investing in Student Success

Silver Hills Middle School Bond Projects

Silver Hills Middle is slated to receive a wide range of investments through the 2024 bond, with between $4.9 million and $5.9 million in planned projects.

Inside the school, students and staff will benefit from upgrades to classrooms and shared spaces with new furnishings and finishes. Select flooring and stair finishes will be replaced, and critical building systems such as heating and cooling equipment will be modernized for improved reliability and comfort.

As part of a district-wide push to introduce career and technical education (CTE) to students in grades 6 through 8, classroom space at Silver Hills will be converted to support new career-focused programming. These flexible spaces will support instruction in a variety of subjects such as design, entrepreneurship and business. By introducing CTE earlier, students will have the chance to discover new passions, strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and begin building a foundation for future academic or career success.

Safety investments include upgraded fire alarms, classroom door locks, exterior door sensors, improved intercoms, and stronger cell coverage. Connectivity will be enhanced through faster Wi-Fi and new network cabling.

Outside the building, bond funds will support repairs to athletic fields, parking lots and asphalt play surfaces, along with brickwork repairs to the school exterior. In all, these projects will help to create a safer, more welcoming campus for the Silver Hills community.

Projected construction budget:
