I am a career middle school teacher in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Since 2004 I have taught a variety of literacy classes for grades 6-8 including English Language Arts, English Language Development, Creative Writing, and Reading Intervention. In my role as Digital Literacy Partner and Instructional Coach I enjoy working side-by-side with teachers on their curriculum and instruction to improve student achievement in all content areas.
I am a Colorado native -- born and raised in Longmont. I have a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Loyola University Chicago and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver.
I am married and we have one daughter in seventh grade and three cats. I am also a certified Jazzercise instructor and teach a few classes a week at Jazzercise Thornton Fitness Center . My other passion is travel. I am an executive board member of 5280 Explorers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes and supports international travel for students ages 12-17. We lead international student travel trips every summer to amazing places such as Japan, Australia, Greece, and Ireland.
