Hi, I am Mr. Orsini
Welcome to THUNDER Core, 7th Grade math. I have been working at this school for 7 years, but have been part of the Silver Hills Community for 9 years. I am so glad that you get to be part of our community and history. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was very young. I can remember back in 7th grade doing a project about career planning and I chose to be a math teacher for that project. In high school for my senior CAPStone project, I created and worked with creating math lessons and curriculum. I can not wait to spend the year discovering and delving deep into the world of mathematics.
I graduated from Adams12 5Star in 2009 from Legacy High School back in 2009. I then attended the University of Colorado @ Boulder graduating in December 2013. I earned my bachelor's degree in mathematics while simultaneously working for my educator's license in secondary education. While in college I was an active member in my fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi, where I held leadership positions all three years I was eligible; finally ending as vice president which is in charge of education and membership. My love for the arts has not stopped since then. I have continued working with bands since graduation, and over the last 3 years, I have worked with the Mountain Range High School Mustang Marching Band.
Outside of school, I perform with the nonprofit oracle performance ensemble. This ensemble works year-round with a dance program. I have been a member for 5 years and am excited to continue. This has provided many opportunities throughout the years; foreign and local travel, jobs, and some great friends. I am currently the director of the MountainRange High School guard. It has been a wonderful and eye-opening opportunity to work with new and former students in the arts and see other sides of them.
Other things that I enjoy are both anime and gaming. So over the last couple of years, I have run the anime and game club at SHMS. It is always great to see the students interact with others about passions beyond the school curriculum. If you are interested in either of these activities feel free to stop by and invite some friends to join!
