I am so thrilled to be at Silver Hills in my 16th year as a middle school science teacher and in my 12th year as part of the Silver Hills family. Family members may recognize me from when I began my career as a 6th grade science teacher at Niver Creek Middle School and siblings may have had me as their 8th grade science teacher here at Silver Hills. I love learning alongside my students as we discover the wonders of our world and how they can be explained.
I moved to Colorado in 2001 and have now lived here for a longer time than any other place. I am originally from Wisconsin, then moved to California to attend Stanford University and finally landed in Denver, Colorado, where I decided to let my roots grow. In 2006, I made a short detour to Chile and spent two years teaching English and traveling through as much of South America as I could. I've been fortunate to travel to all seven continents and see some of the most beautiful landscapes around the world.
Outside of the classroom, I spend the majority of my time trail running and racing ultra distances. I've completed two 100 mile races, the Leadville 100 and the Kettle 100, and various others of the ultra distance, 50K and 50 milers. I love the great outdoors and enjoy the peace that I find out in nature.
